Bubba Jenkins plans to finish Brendan Loughnane in fourth place in the PFL 2022 World Championship

Bubba Jenkins enters the PFL 2022 World Championship with a chance at a million dollars on the line and a new foe in front of him in Brendan Loughnane.

“I feel great, man. I’m excited about the opportunity, I’m excited about the fact that it’s in Madison Square Garden,” Jenkins (19-5), who headlines the second main event against Loughnane this Friday, told us. “You can’t get any better than that, and since it’s the PFL’s first Pay-Per-View, I’m pretty excited about it.”

With six million dollars on the line in the tournament’s six finals, Jenkins is clearly excited ahead of his first PFL final. “Hopefully I get my share of it and it’s going to be a good night. I think the PFL did the right thing by trying to sell it the way they did, and putting me as the co-main event was the best move they could have made because we’re going to get some numbers out of it.”

As for the money, if he wins, he plans to invest it. “We’ll do the right things, invest them in the right places, talk to the right people” was one way of putting it. Another, more poetic, was “you’ll see me shine till the end of time.”

Meanwhile, training camp is going on as usual despite the high stakes associated with the fight. “We didn’t change anything. No new friends, no new places, no new strategies, no new nothing. It’s always been Batman vs. Batman. We’re just making sure we can beat us and if we can beat the man in the mirror then we’ll come away with a big win.”

Meanwhile, things with Brendan Loughnane seem to have gotten a little personal in the build-up to this one. While that’s to be expected in any fist fight, the higher stakes and the chance to provide for their families only increased it when it came to Jenkins vs. Loughnane.

“He said I was a three-round fighter and since I was in the PFL and not in the championship, I should only be a three-round fighter. All the PFL fights have only asked me to do three rounds,” Jenkins said. “This is the first five-round fight I’ve been asked to do, so we’re going to show up as a five-round fighter. So his little oneBubba Jenkins is only a three-round fighter” is obvious because I was only supposed to be a three-round fighter.”

“Just because he said that, I’m going to knock his ass out in the fourth, just to one-up him in his little three-round fighter,” Jenkins added.
