In what has the potential to be the greatest going-away party in UFC history, Nate Diaz was ready to take one final walk to the Octagon at UFC 279.

Looking to cement his own reputation against Diaz was the up-and-coming Khamzat Chimaev, fresh off a win over Gilbert Burns earlier this year. The fight with Burns was the first that really tested Hamzat, and while he didn’t exactly come through with flying colors, he did, emerging victorious after three grueling rounds.

UFC 279’s main event, however, will be a five-rounder, a new twist for a fighter who grew tired in the 15 minutes he spent in the cage with Burns. As for Diaz, cardio is of course one of his best weapons. Thus, the belief that Chimaev’s best path to victory is early, while the key for Diaz will be to drag “Borz” into deep water.

Also on the UFC 279 card, several fan-favorite names including Tony Ferguson, Irene Aldana and Kevin Holland. Weigh-ins for the event take place Friday morning in Las Vegas — results can be found below.
